Saint-Gervais actually consists of two ski areas accessible from the village.
The first, and largest, isÉvasion Mont-Blanc: an interconnected ski area linking Saint-Gervais to Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce, Megève, Combloux, La Giettaz, and Les Contamines-Hauteluce, offering more than 400 km of trails. One ski pass, seven resorts, and a ski area large enough to ski a different run every day for an entire week. You can find details about both ski areas on the official ski areas page.
The second, more secluded area is the Prarion domain, shared with Les Houches and accessible from the resort center via the Mont-Blanc Tramway—a great option for a quieter day away from the busiest trails.
From PlanB, the Le Valléen gondola is a 3-minute walk away. It drops you off in the center of the village, where a second lift takes you to the ski area: you’ll be on the slopes in 10 minutes, without having to drive.
The Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area extends from 1,150 m to 2,353 m in elevation, with a skiable vertical drop of over 1,500 m. The lowest point in the entire area—including connections to neighboring villages—reaches down to 850 m. A wonderful range of options, from well-snow-covered high-altitude runs to ski-in/ski-out access back to the village.
A helpful tip: The beginner's area at Mont d'Arbois, at an elevation of 1,840 meters, boasts particularly reliable snow conditions, as well as an unobstructed view of the mountain range.
Snow depth varies depending on the season and elevation. The resort is equipped with more than 900 snow guns, ensuring good coverage on the main runs even during drier periods.

No mid-mountain resort can promise 100% guaranteed snow—the weather in the Alps is what it is. But Saint-Gervais has two major advantages: a ski area that reaches an elevation of 2,353 meters, where natural snow cover holds up much better than in the valley floor, and a substantial fleet of snowmaking machines that ensures the main runs are open as soon as the first frosts arrive. In practice, skiing conditions remain reliable from the beginning to the end of the season.
The schedule for the upcoming season has already been announced: partial opening on December 12, 2026; full opening on December 19, 2026; followed by a partial closure on March 28 and a full closure on April 4, 2027.
A good tip for planning your trip: aim for the second half of December so you can ski the entire resort as soon as you arrive.
Skiing is just one part of the program. The resort also offers snowshoeing and easy hikes around Le Bettex, a sledding area for children, the Mont-Blanc Tramway for a day out without skis, and the Saint-Gervais Thermal Baths for complete relaxation after a day on the slopes. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, whether they ski or not.
The resort has really stepped up its game in recent years with a dedicated beginner’s area at Mont d’Arbois, at an elevation of 1,840 meters: wide runs, gentle slopes, a new-generation moving walkway, and a safe ski lift, all with the Mont Blanc as a backdrop. There’s also a more affordable local micro-pass for those taking their first turns. A relaxed way to learn, whether with family or on your own.
Rates vary depending on the length of the pass, the time of year, and how far in advance you book—the best deals are usually available online when you book ahead of time. The resort also offers family discounts, beginner passes, and a senior rate, allowing you to tailor your vacation budget to your group. For current prices, visit the official Évasion Mont-Blanc pass website.
A day of skiing is great. Coming back to relax at PlanB right after is even better. From PlanB Living Saint-Gervais, you’re just a few minutes from the ski lifts, with a bar and common areas to keep the evening going once you’ve put your skis away. You’ll also find the true spirit of the place here.
