Our Plan for the Planet: A Committed and Responsible Hotel in Saint-Gervais

At PlanB Living Saint-Gervais, we believe that a hotel should be much more than just a place to stay. It is a place for living and sharing, deeply rooted in its local community at the foot of Mont Blanc. Because we deeply love our region, we have chosen to take responsibility.

No grand moralizing speeches or “greenwashing” here: our CSR approach translates into concrete, measurable actions and a constant commitment to progress in shaping sustainable tourism.

The Fairscore Approach: Measuring Our Impact with Fairmoove

To move forward, we need to know where we’re starting from. That’s why PlanB Living Saint-Gervais, alongside the other properties in the Mont-Blanc Collection group, has committed to the Fairscore initiative with Fairmoove.

This independent solution accurately measures the environmental footprint of a night’s stay with us (breakfast included) using verifiable indicators. For us, this assessment is not a trophy, but a tool for management and continuous improvement. It allows us to identify areas for improvement so that, year after year, we can build a responsible and pragmatic hospitality industry.

Fewer resources: our efforts behind the scenes

Being an eco-friendly hotel means tracking down waste wherever it hides, without ever compromising the comfort of your stay in Saint-Gervais.

Luniwave in every shower: we’ve equipped 100% of our rooms with connected technology Luniwave. A fun and innovative device that helps raise awareness and actively reduce water consumption while showering.

‍Local amenity products: in your bathrooms, you’ll find products from the Terre de Mars. They are made in Haute-Savoie, eco-designed, and available in refillable formats to eliminate single-use plastic.

‍Eco-labeled cleaning: to keep your rooms clean, our teams use eco-labeled cleaning products with a micro-dosing and dilution system, thereby limiting the release of chemicals and water transport.

Daily waste sorting: recycling and waste reduction are an integral part of our behind-the-scenes operational routines.

Homemade cooking and local wisdom

Caring for the environment starts with your taste buds! At PlanB, we bring the philosophy of locally sourced ingredients to our table.

Homemade and seasonal cuisine:
our Chef and his team prioritize "homemade" dishes and adapt the menu with the changing seasons.

‍Supporting local producers: we carefully select our ingredients from local artisans and producers in the valley. Fewer miles traveled, more flavor on the plate, and direct support for our local economy.

Our social and community commitments

CSR isn’t just about the environment. For a socially responsible hotel, the human and social aspects are just as essential. That’s why PlanB’s heart beats in sync with its community.

We actively support local organizations, athletes, and events that bring the Saint-Gervais Valley and the Mont-Blanc region to life:
- Loan Bozollo, a top-level French snowboarder, 2025 world runner-up, and 2026 Olympic team medalist.
- Les Yétis, the Mont-Blanc Hockey Club.
- Anouck Errard, French downhill champion who now competes in ski cross.
- Victor Lourdel, freeride skier.
- And numerous local events: Mountain Book Fair, Artocène...

PlanB aims to be a springboard and a partner for those who drive our region forward.

Commitments to the Future and Diversity

Signing the #StOpE initiative: We are firmly committed to combating so-called "everyday" sexism in the workplace to ensure a healthy, respectful, and inclusive environment for all our teams.

‍Training young people: We believe in passing on our knowledge. PlanB is actively involved in training and mentoring young talent in the hospitality industry (apprentices, interns) to inspire a passion for the profession.

Focus on sustainable transportation

Because eco-tourism starts with transportation, PlanB Living Saint-Gervais actively encourages our guests and staff to choose sustainable transportation options when exploring our mountains.

As part of this initiative, we’ve partnered with Loomi, a committed organization, to rethink the way we travel. Together, we’ve designed the perfect micro-adventure: a 100% car-free hiking trip with a base camp. Want to try it out? Check out the itinerary and download the GPX tracks in our article on a micro-adventure facing Mont Blanc with Loomi
We’re not perfect, but we’re making progress. Choosing PlanB Living Saint-Gervais means opting for a meaningful stay, where every small action counts toward preserving our playground: the Alps.
